Bilston Robin 2 Eximius Humanus launch
We launched the album at Bilston’s Robin 2 on Feb 23rd. It was a fantastic night, with a beautiful opening set from Luna Rossa. We’ve supported Panic Room at the Robin several times, so it was a fantastic to have Panic Room’s Anne-Marie Helder and Jonathon Edwards opening the night for us here.
We were sadly forced to cut the set slightly short as Nige had been ill most of the preceding week and was really struggling. He managed to find enough grit from somewhere to come back and do Lord Of The North as an encore. What a trooper!
It didn’t spoil the proceedings too much – and it was absolutely fantastic to see so many familiar faces from far and wide who had travelled to see us that night. It was a magical night for us!
Birmingham Asylum 2 Double Header with Also Eden
We’ve played several shows with Also Eden over the years, and it was good to have a chance to see the new material from their new album [Redacted] live. It’s a smaller gig than the Robin and it was a smaller and more select crowd than the Robin gig, but great to see lots of MR shirts that night.
York Fibbers supporting Graham Bonnet
This was a really exciting night for us. It was a real honour to be on the same bill as Graham Bonnet. GB is a God for several of us in the band, so this was a night to savour. And it didn’t disappoint.
Firstly, the man himself was a gent, a real pleasure to meet him, and the band were all lovely. Fibbers was packed – it was shoulder to shoulder right back to the bar. We were on great form that night, and although we only had 30 minutes, we pulled out the big guns from the new album for a noisy and appreciative crowd.
An honourable mention must go to Callum who did a fantastic job for us on sound that night, and who we’re looking forward to working with again in the not too distant future – keep an eye on the website, we’re hoping to confirm more shows very soon.
There are a couple of exciting things in the pipeline, so stay tuned! Pete’s going to be busy with Marillion on the Cruise to the Edge in the coming weeks, and then off to South America with them again in May, but in the meantime, we’ll be working behind the scenes to put more shows in the diary and get out and about again as soon as possible.
