I am not an instrumentalist, so I can’t say whether your playing sucks or is brilliant, but I can tell you how I felt about the songs.
1. In the End- Has a lot of energy from the natural-feeling-groove up- tempo rhythm. The lyrics to a lot of “Power-Rock” songs is like a needle next to a balloon, but the lyric with “In the End” carries my attention to the end, and keeps me interested in where you are going with the theme. Might could use reverb on this vocal track. 2. Fighting Man- The music sounds tight. The lyric took me a few listens to here where you were going with it, but it works well with this piece of music. 3. Lord of the North- Music is strong, and fits beautifully with the lyric. I’ve heard pagan themed songs that sounded very cheesy to me, but this sounds like you are really into the idea of a return to the pre-Christian god-culture. I’m a Christian, and I have a different take on this idea than you may have. To me this idea is really about overcoming the tyranny of the conscience, much as the Morpheous reference in your Bands name is a reference to the same theme in the Matrix series of movies. My Christianity offers me a different path to overcoming the tyranny of the conscience (love). Love needs, and can tolerate, no such tyranny. Of course many, if not most, Christians wouldn’t agree with me on this. The apostle Paul did; 1Co 6:12 All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any. (That’s your religion class for the year.) 4. Save the Day- I love the music, the lyric seems to fit the music well. 5. Those Who Watch- Reminds me of a gothic version of Yes, especially the vocals. Very strong music, and the lyric is too.
Lords of the North, and Those Who Watch are my favorites.
